Find me on...

Hi! I just wanted to say that I'm a great fan of your style (and of course, your life in Paris!). I was wondering if you could help me with something... I'm starting university this fall and I thought it could be the occasion for trying on a brand new look. Do you have any suggestions? I love college-like pieces and of course your designs :)

Hi! Sorry for the delay in my response! I hope you are still in need of advice and so flattered you would ask me!

This is a tough question as I am not sure what your style is now and what you are hoping to change, but think we should all wear first and foremost what we feel comfortable and most ourselves in. After that for a start I like the idea of the college like pieces, I see this as a trend for all as well with letterman jackets, pleated skirts, preppy sweaters etc. Going away to college was a style challenge for me because I didn’t have a lot of space, so I invested in a lot of basics and spruces them up with really crazy statements wardrobe items I was head over heels for. Basics for me would be black motorcycle boots, some ballerinas, some mary janes, some little black dresses, oversize sweaters, a denim jacket, a leather jacket, a khaki trench, boyfriend jeans, black leggings, some super soft boys tees, and some oxford button downs. If I didn’t own much more than that I would be sartorially satisfied my whole life, really! Those sort of play into a neutral tomboy look and if you like something like I do, then my suggestions would be to bring in some pretty pastels girly skirts and bags to dress them up.

I hope that helps and all the best to you for your start at university! What an exciting time…
